Why We Remember: Student Research on 9/11
To mark the ten year anniversary of 9/11, St. John’s University announces a series of events on its campuses across the New York metropolitan region which showcases the university’s distinctive character and relationship with the City of New York. As a university, St. John’s is committed to academic excellence and the pursuit of wisdom which flows from free inquiry, religious values and human experience. We strive to preserve and enhance an atmosphere in which scholarly research, imaginative methodology, global awareness and an enthusiastic quest for truth serve as the basis of a vital teaching-learning process and the development of lifelong learning. Our semester of commemoration and reflection is undertaken in the spirit of this mission predicated on our Catholic and Vincentian values and dedication to excellence in scholarship, service, and teaching
